Essays on Peak

Peak is a novel by Roland Smith about a 14-year-old boy named Peak Marcello who is sent to live with his father in New York City after getting into trouble in his hometown of Boulder, Colorado. Peak is not happy about this arrangement and is determined to find a way back home. He soon discovers that his father is a famous mountaineer who is preparing to climb Mount Everest. Peak is determined to prove that he is just as good of a climber as his father and sets out to summit the world’s tallest mountain. Along the way, he must overcome his fear of heights, face deadly avalanches, and battle the elements to reach the top.
