The young actor, who is of Ashkenazi Jewish ethnicity, was raised in New Jersey alongside his two sisters Hallie and Kerri Eisenberg. He got his high school education from East Brunswick High School New Jersey but had to transfer to Professional Performing Arts School in New York. Jesse Eisenberg got a place in New York University but had to reject it in favour of his acting career. He went to attend the New School in Greenwich Village instead.

Jesse Eisenberg made his acting debut in a children’s theatre production when he was eight, however, he made his professional debut at the age of sixteen with The Gathering. He made his television acting debut with the television series Get Real which ran from 1999 to 2000. Some of his other early movies include The Emperor’s Club and Roger Dodger which were positively reviewed. However, his big break came with Zombieland, a horror comedy movie which was released in 2009 and costarred Abigail Breslin, Woody Harrelson and Emma Stone. In 2010, he appeared in The Social Network in which he portrayed the founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg. The role got him significant recognition and even earned him an Academy Award nomination. He has also tried his hand at voice acting, voicing the character ‘Blu’ in the animated films Rio and Rio 2. He also played notable villain Lex Luthor in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Apart from this, he is known for his roles in Now You See Me and Now You See Me 2. As a testament to the success of his career, Jesse Eisenberg has been nominated for several awards including Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Motion Picture Drama, BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role, Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role and Satellite Award for Best Actor – Motion Picture Drama.
