We live our life through actions and decisions. Humans all around the world face obstacles and challenges that must be conquered in order to become better and stronger. Our actions dictate own life and we live according to our actions. Throughout our journey of life we will face forces that constrain or strengthen our decisions that guides us through existence. We live influenced by own beliefs and values. These principles we hold dear to our heart's steer us to a direction of hope and fulfillment.
Possessing your own emotions and choosing to continue to struggle instead of striving for mediocrity is what makes us human. The forces that encourage an individual's actions causes an individual to persevere and aim for greatness. There are many forces that drive an individual's actions. These actions create a desire within ourselves. A desire to achieve fulfillment. The lust to demonstrate success within one's life. Human have power and that power is our determination to fight on and strive for glory.
Individuals do not crumble or are not fazed by pressure. Individuals uses what restraints them as motivation and exert oneself beyond limits in order to achieve one's goal and ambitions.
The text written by Brigit Pegeen Kelly titled ''The Leaving,'' shows the speaker reflecting on a night's labour and the hardship she goes through, picking fruits all night long. Describing the night around her and her surroundings as she picks all the peaches from the orchard. This poem displays her realization that she, a girl, can do anything she puts her mind to and prove to those who doubted her wrong.
The poem illustrates she is motivated by her father's disbelief of her potential. Entailing that a young girl trying to prove to herself to her father is able to accomplish a task her father thought she was too young or weak to accomplish. When the speaker states, "My father said I could not do it", the line suggests that her father disapprovals of her and has no faith in her abilities. Causing her to crave for better, to prove to her father that she can do it and will do it no matter what it takes. The expectation of her father gave the girl the motivation needed to stay up all night to pick the peaches on the orchard. The father was a force that encouraged the girl to stay determined and achieve her goals. Without the encouragement of her father, the girl would not have had the same motivation and intent for her actions. Her father created a desire within her. A desire of fulfillment, to achieve a goal and strive for eminence. What restricted her became her motivation of success and pushed her beyond her limits in order to achieve her ambitions. Knowing that your restraints do not restrain you, pushing your body and mind to their limits, is what sets apart mediocre from excellence. Those who seek out successfulness and preserve are the ones defined as great.
Like the girl in the poem, my life is shaped by forces that encourage my actions. When facing adversity, these forces encourage me to push myself and become a better version of me. In the past, I was trying out for my junior high basketball team. Where there were many athletes at the tryout with immense level of skill. There, these boys demonstrated their ball handling skills and jump shot ability, I became intimidated quickly. Instead of quitting or backing down, I gained this sense of desire to become better. I became motivated by their level of skill and ability to play basketball as such a high level while being the same age as me. It encouraged me to jump high, play harder, achieve something great in order to become better. Being pushed to strive to more, not only impacted my ability to play sports, but propelled me to become a better individual. The motivation I gained from basketball boosting my ability to study harder, to aim for a higher test mark every test. My world had become brighter, I could see clearly now that I had something pushing me to be successful. Realizing that being scared and letting my restraints confined me, will ultimately become my downfall. Pushing myself to be better and stronger, letting the forces that encourage me to succeed take over my mind. Forcing me to reach deep down inside me and exert myself beyond boundaries to obtain my goals and dreams. To utilize every part of your body and mind and find your drive that impels you to go all-out. Individuals do not struggle, they are motivated to live by the forces that encourage them to move forward. Individuals make every effort of doing their absolute best to accomplish their objectives and desires in life. The chains that binds an individual to their limits and cause them to be content with their mediocrity, are mere motivators that stimulate any individual to strive for their desires and objectives to the ends of the world. To push themselves beyond their limits and achieve happiness within oneself. Doing one's absolute utmost to achieve greatness.
