In A Knight's Conflict will illustrate how the Jews had to be literal knights to survive a night in a concentration camp. Elie Wiesel executed the memoir "Night" by explaining the holocaust and how it happened from his perspective. The holocaust made such an impact that Elie Wiesel's memoir (Night) was one of his most popular books. This paper will show how Man V Man has the greatest impact on the book
To begin with, motivation was present in the book "Night" and was one of the many reasons that characters began conflicts between each other.
For instance, on page number fifty-seven Idek states "Just you wait · You will see what it cost to leave your work·You'll pay for this later·And now go back to your place·".
This shows how the Nazis no matter how small the conflict was they were always motivated to have a dispute. Furthermore, in the book "Night", it states on page number fifty-five "That presented Franek with the opportunity to torment him and, on a daily basis, to thrash him savagely.
". This shows how the fellow inmates treated each other motivation was in the air that is why they hade conflicts with each other.
Relationships between characters were almost always made by conflicts between characters in the book "Night". For instance when Eliezer states on page number four "One day I asked my father to find me a master who would guide me in my studies of Kabbalah. You are too young for that".
This quote shows the relationship between Eliezer and his father at the start of the book and how the rest of the story will be based on it. Furthermore, on page number one-hundred and five Eliezer again states "Father! I howled Father get up Right now You will kill yourself·" This quote shows how the relationship between Eliezer and his father has changed from Eliezer being the child to now him taking care of his dad.
Lastly, the conflict between characters also sets the mood/setting of the book "Night" As stated in the book "Night" on page one hundred and one "In the wagon where the bread had landed, a battle had ensured. Men were hurling themselves against each other, trampling, tearing at and mauling each other" This quote explains how the Jews needed food because of the concentration camp's lack of food given, giving the setting of poverty.
Also beating people would be second nature to Nazis as stated on page number fifty-four of the book Night "The victim this time was my father·And he began beating him with an iron bar. This shows how the soldier's treated the Jews in the concentration camps.
