The purpose of this proposal is to inform you of what the product is, why we need it, where it will be utilized, and how much of an affect it will have on our time and bottom line.

Cisco ASA with FirePOWER Services is a series of devices that consolidates multiple cyber security solutions into one security platform thereby cutting the cost of buying and maintaining multiple individual soft and hardware services. Nmap also identifies open posts on any target in our network. We can also use it to find and exploit vulnerabilities on our network. Nmap is can find services running on all our systems connected to the internet. It can also find unauthorized servers or computers that do not conform to security standards. Nmap supports advanced techniques for mapping all kinds of networks filled with firewalls, routers, and other devices making it a very functional and powerful tool. Nmap supports most operating systems so its scalable and can upgrade as we do. The program is well documented with white papers, tutorials, and an entire book on how to use and configure it. Nmap is supported by a large group of developers and users and can be reached through mailing lists and social media. Nmap was also named “Security Product of the Year” by Linux Journal, and Info World.

Medical Solutions Systems has been hit with numerous cyber-attacks over the last year with the worst being the defacement of its public website and several Denial of Service attacks. Over a period of 9 months were hit with Denial of Service attacks and had our company webpage defaced by cyber terrorist seeking prevent us from providing world class products to the world. I believe this is where Cisco ASA with FirePOWER comes in. During an independent third-party test using Nmap, it blocked 99% of NGIP and 92% of AMP threats. (At a glance Cisco public, 2018) The Nmap software used on Cisco ASA is distributed under the GNU Public License and free to use. In a case study conducted at SCHEELS sporting goods, Josh Diemert and Perry Stockwell company IT experts, assessed that it was becoming too costly and difficult to manage their vender managed aging infrastructure. (Cisco , 2018) It was taking upwards to 24 hours for simple policy changes to be implemented and they were still configured incorrectly. They decided to bring all their security in house by purchasing Cisco ASA with FirePOWER services. They deployed 80 units throughout their stores and used the FireSIGHT management Center to centrally manage the entire setup. (Cisco , 2018) Deployment to new stores only took hours as oppose to months and they were able to successfully detect malware that attempted to call out to a command and control server shortly after its implementation.
