When asked this question in today's society, my answer would be, of course, a college degree improves your career opportunities. I feel this way because when a potential employer views a resume or an employee's profile, they want to know that the candidate has the proper knowledge and training in the career field for which they're applying. That's why college exists. For example, a person who wants to become a doctor cannot simply walk into a hospital and say, "I want to be a doctor" without having any prior knowledge or training regarding the human body.
It would be a disaster.
Whether we like it or not, the truth is that a college degree is more credible than someone who claims to be smarter than most people who went to school for years. Some people may think that a college degree is just a piece of paper, but it holds significant value in the job market.
If someone were to argue with me about the facts or my opinion, I would consider their perspective and try to understand their point of view.
I would ask them why they believe that having a college degree does not improve career opportunities.
To ensure that I continue to use critical thinking in the future, I will learn to make wise decisions by weighing out the options and considering opposing points of view. I will practice critical thinking by reading more and conducting research on the subject. Additionally, I will ask the right questions to come up with solutions to problems I face on a day-to-day basis.
