America is filled with many opportunities for everyone. No matter who you are or what your background you come from, you will always have the chance to live the American Dream. If someone where to ask me how I would describe America in three words. I would describe America as opportunity, equality and materialistic.

America is the land of opportunity. People can do and achieve anything they want if they put their mind to it. “Anywhere between two-thirds and three-fourths of the American public believe that the American Dream is dead” from entrepreneur.

Bedros and his family would go around “eating out of dumpsters because they had such little money”. Bedros’s father now owns and runs an accomplishing tailoring business. Most people go to public schools, but you also have the to option to pay an unreasonable price to go to a private school. The average cost for a private school is almost $11,000, but it has it’s pros for paying that much. There are smaller class sizes, which help students focus more and get more help. They also challenge kids to a higher standard of academics, which sets kids up for better success in life. No matter what your background is you will always have the chance to go to school and fulfill your potential.

Many school also offer programs that help families pay for school. Which brings us to how the United States helps everyone no matter who you are. The SSI (Supplemental Security Income Program) is a program that helps low-income seniors, adults, and kids with disabilities. They get roughly around $536 a month. This just goes to show that no matter who you are and what your background is. You will always have the government on your back helping you during tough times. I’ve had many opportunities in my life. I use to play hockey for the Minnesota Blades. They were ranked the best hockey team in Minnesota. I played for them for two years, but then hockey got the best of me. Playing hockey everyday and dedicating my life to it was a struggle for me.

So I quit, by playing hockey everyday I got bored of it. If I would have stayed with hockey it would have opened up so many opportunities for me, like playing D1 collage hockey and maybe even going pro. Not only is America fulfilled with endless opportunities, but it’s also revolved around equality.

On March 22,1972 a very significant amendment was passed. The Equal Rights Amendment was passed to American citizen despite their sex or gender. This amendment helps the unfairness between men and women in divorce, employment and, property.
