A Teacher’s Perception, a note from a teacher’s diary. It’s another year and with it comes another special day for the teachers. Ah! I can never fathom the true meaning of this day but I can see the excitement and eagerness in the eyes of class 12th students to take over the whole school as teachers. I am filled with love for my students. I think this is the day when students can express their gratitude for the teachers and thank them for everything they have done for the students.

From the past few years, our so-called modern society is getting influenced by western culture, the old guru shishya concept has lost its meaning somewhere in this transition. Today a teacher is more like an extended family for a student away from his home. This new culture has made the teachers more approachable, but this open relationship does come with its own challenges. Students sometimes forget the respect they ought to give to their teachers and the true essence that once blossomed the teacher-student relationship is fading slowly in the present scenario.

Dear Students, this teacher’s day I want to come out and say from the bottom of my heart that as teachers we always want the best for you. We feel elated in your success and dejected when you lose. We, as teachers take upon ourselves to show you the right path and prepare you for what is outside the protective walls of the school. Sometimes you might feel suffocated in these walls and want to break free, but these are the times when you can come and talk to us.

Share your concerns and I assure you that we will do our best and maybe more to make you feel comfortable. Dear Students always remember that we respect your presence because if there are students, we have teachers, without you we cease to exist.

I am sad to express today, that the three main pillars of the education system; students, their parents and teachers are fighting within themselves because of that the trust in the education system is somewhat lost. They seem to have forgotten that every step taken in this system is for the better future of their students. I am prepared to bring back this trust, but I would need your support, are you with me? In conclusion, I would say that I abide by the Ramjas philosophy of “Sharda, Gyan, Karma “and try to protect the values of this institution. I feel proud to be a Ramjasian and expect the same spirit of love, respect, and belongingness from you. Let's all join hands to take our school to new heights. I want you all to gather as many memorable moments as you can because I will say what many say after they graduate, “school was the best time of their lives”.
