Marijuana has been prohibited in the United States since 1937. I believe marijuana should be legalized because of the economy, health issues, and criminal justice system. The top reason marijuana should be legalized is because of the economic issues. The estimated retail value of marijuana would be about 113 billion dollars if it were legal. Marijuana arrest cost tax payers about 10.7 billion dollars alone.

Many tax payers then wonder why their taxes are so high, well there's your reason why. Legalizing marijuana could save 42 billion dollars a year.
