A Growing Problem of Racial Prejudice in Sports

1. Mesut Ozil Germany international footballer quits from the Germany team citing racism mark by the federation.

Ozil said in his tweets:

I am German when we win but I am an immigrant when we lose. This is not why I play football and I will not sit back and do nothing about it. Racism should never, ever be accepted.

Recently, this year Germany was out of the 2018 World Cup race. There was aggression among people of Germans, some started making him feel like an outcast.

Now, we will never see him playing for Germany again. It's really difficult to accept this fact.

2. Patrice Evra - Football

Manchester United and Liverpool have been famous for their rough tough behavior to win the match. In the hot as lava match, in 2011, during the match, Luis Suarez called Patrice Evra a "negro". Though Suarez has denied the allegation, the federation found him guilty and banned him for 8-matches.

After serving his ban, it was again Manchester United and Liverpool, we could not see a sign of contrition in Suarez as he refused to shake hands with Patrice Evra.

In the year 2012, Washington Capitals and the Boston Bruins were playing against each other, Joel Ward the Capitals player scored the winning goal against the Boston Bruins who were the best defending team.

The goal made Washington Capitals win the match and everyone was praising his efforts which he showed during the match BUT the winning goal scored by Bruins does not go well with Boston fans who were not happy by his efforts, they racially started abusing him on social websites.

4. Floyd Mayweather Jr racist remarks on Filipino Manny Pacquiao.

Boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr was having a match with Pacquiao, during the fight, Floyd made racial remarks and called him "little yellow chump".

To this understatement Pacquiao replied:

It's an uneducated message.

Here is what he said in a video:

I’m on vacation for about a year, about a year. As soon as we come off vacation, we’re going to cook that little yellow chump. We ain’t worried about that. So they ain’t gotta worry about me fighting the midget. Once I kick the midget's a**, I don’t want you all to jump on my d***. So you all better get on the bandwagon now…. Once I stomp the midget, I’ll make that mother f*ck** make me a sushi roll and cook me some rice.

5. Williams sisters also have faced those racists remarks. And we are happy that the SISTERS are giving them the answer by their wins.

The world knows, they are the best tennis players in this whole world, but for some there achievement does not matter, they will always be busy in taunting or puking out racist and sexist attacks.

One Twitter user wrote that Williams "looks like a gorilla, and sounds like a gorilla when she grunts while hitting the ball. In conclusion, she is a gorilla." Another user said: "so unbelievably dominant ... and manly."

Why? Are you so empty minded, if you can’t praise…at least you can mute your criticizing mouth.

Another incident she shared in an interview with Guardian:

I feel like people think I’m mean,” she said. “Really tough and really mean and really street. I believe that the other girls in the locker room will say, ‘Serena’s really nice.’ But Maria Sharapova, who might not talk to anybody, might be perceived by the public as nicer. Why is that? Because I’m black and so I look mean? That’s the society we live in. That’s life. They say African Americans have to be twice as good, especially women. I’m perfectly OK with having to be twice as good.

6. Tiger Woods

The life of the world top class golfer has been full of ups and downs. All through his career, he has faced a lot of racist comments, whether it is from media, so-called colleagues, or from the other golfers.

Sergio Garcia a Spanish footballer, he was in an event, where he was asked; whether he would invite Woods over for dinner at the U.S. Open next month.

To this he replied:

We will have him round every night. We will serve the ‘fried chicken’.

Friend chicken term is considered as racism remark.

After the outrage, Sergio apologizes for his insensitive remark.
