The concept of police brutality is negative, and it compromises the general expectation form the law enforcement and therefore compels any author to discuss its drawbacks to the society as well as criticize it much. However, understand the different authors' preceptive and what they say about the issue is essential. The issues of police brutality are a significant theme in both movies mentioned, and therefore, they will provide an essential source in this discussion. In this case the focus will be on the movie, “the hate you give”.

Summary

The movie follows a 16 year old girl after she witnessed the killing of her black friend by a police office. At first she is kept secret as a star witnessed in the shooting. however, this changes when she does and interview. She mentions one of the gangs during the interview which affect her position in the community, the gang decided to retaliate and this forces her and her mother to move in with her uncle who is a police detective. While the movie continues, the case of the shooting fails to indict the police officer of the crime., this forces the community to riot both peacefully and violently. This increased the tension in the community and force the police to join in to stop the protests. The police efforts are however futile since Starr, the girl in the movie focuses on becoming an advocacy against the police brutality and the gang activities in the community. This is one of the issue that she faces in the community, both conflicting with the police and the gangs thereby making a her a target. However thought-out the movie she maintains two personas, one that has as a black kid in the community facing all the challenges faced by black people and the other as an attendant of an all-white school which is different form her status as being black. Somehow the notable themes all over the movies entail police brutality, racial profiling, discrimination, bias and the cases of gang activities in the community. However, the most noticeable is the injustice legal system which tend to favor the police rather than the victims. This is the main cause of the aggravation that the movie focuses or is built on. The community riots are as a result of the police brutality and the legal system failure to punish the police officer for his actions. While the movie also addresses other issues in the community, the focus on the challenges that the black community faces is the most evident.

Discussions

The US legal website defines police brutality as excessive use of force by police officers toward civilians. It continues to state that this is a civil rights violation and that force is only applicable in such amounts that would result in the desired outcome. However, the definition of this amount of force is not defined (US Legal). The idea of police brutality is, therefore, the unnecessary use of such force that extensive harm the civilian subject it is directed towards. Having police commit police brutality might be a result of numerous causes, which might either e personal or circumstantial. However, the definition states clearly that no such amount of force that would be termed as being excessive police force is justifiable.

In the united states, there have been significant steps that tried to end racism and the killing of black communities. This is another issue that needs a solution right away. When it comes to racism, the blacks in the united states are the best examples, and they achieve literary suffered under the mantle of being colored for a long time (Poulsen, Bailey-Davis, Pollak, Hirsch, & Schwartz, 2019). In the past decade, there has been a considerable reporting of blacks being killed by police officers at the suspect of being armed or being an imminent danger. The fact that they are perceived as an imminent danger affects their position and affirms the existence of racism. Numerous methods have been tied to educate the united states people about the racism and discriminative bias approach in handling issues in the country. With the existence of such movies as “the hate you give” (Tillman, 2018), and “black and blue”, (Taylor, 2019), there has been an influx in a trial to ensure that people find the solutions and come together to end racism. However, these approaches don’t seem to bear any fruits. The deaths of black still exist. The blacks still represent the highest part of poverty-stricken populations in the united states. Every black man is sitting on hot seats with the potential of being a victim of police murder because of being black. Ince needs to be broken, and these issues made a priority. The demonstrations by the black communities need to be listened to, and solutions on how to improve their security set out and implemented. There is need to educate the white folks that the blacks are part of their country as well. It is only through such measures as educating and improving the position of the black in the community that their security and safety can be ascertained in the city and the streets. There is also the need to focus on educating the blacks on specific issues that might make them victims of brutality, such as engaging in drugs and being in crime (Ramírez, 2019). These all need to be addressed and talked about until solutions that hold water are set out and implemented. Regardless of how slowly the process might take, there needs to be noticeable solutional and efforts on the same.

The movie focuses on discussing such issues as discrimination by sexual orientation and racial differences in the community, how people identify gender-wise, and how they choose to love their lives. All these are issues that need ice broken on and the movie does so very well. They are issues that end to affect the communities, especially in the third world regions. Failing to discuss these issues and how they affect the city is a considerable hindrance to the development of the world. It is also a challenge since some of the diseases need to be treated and can only be done so if the community accepts some of the couples as part of the city. The overall notion of being difference needs to be understood and accepted, and this is only possible f the communities discuss how such issues would impact their wellbeing. When it comes to the movie and its focus, it is all about to bring everything that affects the city to the limelight and discussing it openly. It is only through such approaches that some of these issues and others not discussed can be addressed. It is only through this approach that stigmatization on such issues as mental health, rape, and inferiority complex can be addressed, and they need to be addressed if the community is to come together in finding solutions to the recurrent challenges that affect the people.
