All of these may strengthen the relationship among Malaysians and raise unity and tolerance among themselves.

Moving on to the next point, unity and tolerance among Malaysians can be promoted through competitions too. All Malaysians, without taking into account the races and religions, may join together in a competition, for instances, walkathon, marathon, or any festivals and carnivals. Have you seen Indian boys taking part in a tiger dance competition in conjunction with Chinese New Year Festival? Have you seen Chinese girl singing traditional Malay song in a competition? And what comes in your mind when seeing Malay girls dancing Indian traditional dance in a competition? That is the beauty and uniqueness of Malaysia. By this way, tourists from other countries would feel anxious and make Malaysia as an example to promote unity and tolerance in the eyes of the world. It is Malaysia’s aspiration to promote peace among citizens to global community too. Absolutely, we as Malaysians should be proud that we can live peacefully and harmoniously under one roof.

Furthermore, we may also organize several recreational activities to promote unity and tolerance among Malaysians such as ‘gotong-royong’ and aerobic activities especially during holidays. For instance, when we held a ‘gotong-royong’, each and everyone in the community will work together and help each other to settle their tasks. Thus, they may know each other closer and would act more friendly towards each other. This situation could lead them to unity and tolerance, thus 1 Malaysia concept would turn into reality.

On the whole, Malaysian people should realise that it is essential to unite together and support the 1 Malaysia concept in order to achieve excellence among them. Besides that, government, non-government organisations as well as all citizens should play their role and responsible to be more cooperate in order to promote unity and tolerance among Malaysians so that all of us may live in peace and harmony.
