A team leader who provides direction, instruction, guidance, information to the team members for the reason of improving the project and to reach a successful destination. Therefore, a leader has to be responsible for their group members when they finish the project and work together. As a team leader, I was trying to be qualified to solve the problems when we finished the project.

Moreover, I had to make a plan for guiding my team members. Before meeting with our team members, I read the instruction of the project and made a note for my team members like what I have to discuss it.

Therefore, I divided the works of the project into several parts and distributed the works within the team members including me. Moreover, I communicated with each team members through the WhatsApp and email. Each of them collects information and we discussed the main thesis of the project based on the information.

Basically, I followed the similar practices and behaviors each time I led the team.

Because it worked well. Now I will explain about the first time of my team leadership that every time I communicated with my each team members through email, WhatsApp and phone call. And also in the meeting, I clearly explained to each team members that what our goal was for the assignment and why It was very important to meet physically. I really did not like to waste any time to talk about unnecessary things therefore, I said effectively in the meeting.

Personally, I am very nice to everyone. I respect individually. As a team leader, I motivated each of my team members to progress the work. I encouraged them so that they could get energy and would not feel boring to work with the project. I think that motivation makes people perfect. I was positive minded with my team members. I always tried to avoid conflict. When they were in a problem with the project, they asked me questions. I listened and tried to solve the problems and also I was available on the weekend to work with the project and asked my group members that if they had any question, they could join with me or could make a group conference call through WhatsApp.

Though we worked together in the google docs account. I like feedback, therefore, I asked my members to provide the feedback to me. Because this method is easier to understand myself like how important I was for my team members. I was aware every time that their idea on the assignment was effective or not effective. I had tried to make a good relationship with each of the team members. I occasionally kept them under pressure.

However, I always reminded them of the due date to submit. However, I wanted that each of the team members had to be done by their own work and everyone did hopefully. And that’s why I just followed the similar practices and behavior each time when I led my team members. From our class, I have been chosen two skills and there are leadership skills and empowering skills with self and others. We all have the ability to become a great leader. We just have to maintain some rules and need to do some practices to build ourselves.

A great leader shares the information and power with team members to achieve the goal. Each of the team members has to be known that what actually they have to do. And they will imagine a big picture like where they will fit themselves in there. They should have the ability to make their own decision to contribute to the project in a significant way. For this reason, they must have to be a knowledgeable person. Therefore, as a team leader, I shared the information which I collected for our project with my team members in the group meeting. So that they could think what’s our destination was and could make an effective decision and that should be a great fit for our project. Each team members should think bigger so that they can provide a deeper opinion. Every leader should have a big heart.

Because they need to motivate the team members individually. The effective team leader will show an appreciation for the team members efforts. Some leaders don’t appreciate their members and it is very hurtful. If a leader does like this way, team members will get encouraged to improve the work and will try to achieve success. When I was a team leader, I used this idea with my team members. I really appreciated them for their efforts. Empowerment is an action which leader can share his or her powers within the team members. In this case, team members have to be knowledgeable persons. Because a knowledge person who is a team member and she or he has to use the information to accomplish the work. Empowerment is very important to provide motivation with team members.

Because it increases the achievement goals. Maslow's hierarchy of need theory brings that “people are intrinsically motivated in direct relationship to their needs, from the most basic lower-level needs (physiological, safety) progressing up the hierarchy to the social or higher-level needs (social, self - esteem, self - actualization)”. I totally agree with Maslow’s theory. As a team leader, I tried to motivate my team members through empowerment. I faced little difficulties as a team leader, however, I was able to handle those challenges. Before a meeting, I had to prepare myself like I made a note because I had to discuss effectively to progress our project. Therefore, at that time I felt a little difficult to think about the accurate things in the project because I did not want to be embarrassed in front of our team members. And I really did not want to waste our time in the group meeting.

To accomplish our goal, my team members maintained a big picture perspective, they had been set a challenging goal, and they followed the other team’s success as a model. In addition, I have learned about leadership from my experience that a leader should be strong and goal - oriented to lead the team members. In my future professional internship, I will apply these keys. Because goal-oriented leadership is very important in an organization. I will imagine a huge picture and will put myself in the picture like how I should start my leadership and which steps I have to take to reach our destination. And also I will provide effective information and will encourage my other team members so that they can imagine a huge picture and put themselves in there. And also I will motivate them to make their own decision.
