Even every character that William Golding portrays in the Lord of the Flies is very likely a metaphor. Imagine, Raph is a symbol of democratic spirit, Jack stands for tyrannical dictatorship, Piggy is a character of wisdom, Roger is a rebel, acting drawing on the faces of children by Jack, the leader of those children symbolizes the abandonment of human personality... And from there goes straight to the main image, the Lord of the Flies.
