Shelleys portrayal of victor in her novel Frankenstein makes it seem like hes evil but in my opinion I think victor wanted to do something good but it ended up backfiring . Everyone thinks hes this bad person for creating the monster but they dont think about how smart he had to have been to even create it.

All he wanted to do was create a friend but it ended up backfiring because people were scared and didnt like the monster .

Shelleys portrayal of victor in her novel Frankenstein makes it seem like hes evil for creating it, but to me I feel as if he was trying to do something good but it ended up backfiring.

He was trying to create a friend but nobody saw the good in what he was doing only that he was doing something unnatural. Everyone thinks hes this bad person for creating the monster but they dont think about how smart he had to have been to even create it. Victor wasnt sure how people would view the monster.“ I stepped fearfully in: the apartment was empty, and my bedroom was also freed from its hideous guest. I could hardly believe that so great a good fortune could have befallen me, but when I became assured that my enemy had indeed fled, I clapped my hands for joy and ran down to Clerval.” ( shmoop). Victor assumes that because his creature is hideous, he must be an enemy. People didnt like the monster because they thought he was too scary looking.

People didnt like the monster because he was scary looking. I feel as if people werent scared of him that people wouldnt think Frankenstein did something bad. I think that people would have thought what he was doing was brilliant and creative, but since the monster became bad it was a brilliant idea that turned into something terrible. “We make our own monsters, then fear them for what they show us about ourselves.” (Mike Carey & Peter Gross, The Unwritten, Vol. 1: Tommy Taylor and the Bogus Identity). What he means by this is that Frankstein started to fear the monster, but thats how he really is on the inside. What people didnt understand though was he didnt intentionally make a bad monster he made it so he would have a friend, but everyone feared the monster so he changed.

I feel like if Frankenstien didnt accuse the monster of killing his brother the monster wouldn’t have gone on a rampage and turned evil. Before the monster didnt know anything about murder or bloodshed until frankenstien accused him of killing his brother. No one really knew the monster before he started acting out. They just assumed he was scary because of his features, but he didnt know about anything bad. “I expected this reception,” said the daemon. “All men hate the wretched; how, then, must I be hated, who am miserable beyond all living things!” ( spartnotes) Acessed 1 May 2020. When Frankenstein accuses the Monster of murdering his brother William, the Monster cleverly deflects the accusation.

Shelleys portrayal of victor in her novel Frankenstein makes it seem like hes evil, but in my opinion I think Victor wanted to do something good but it ended up backfiring . Everyone thinks he’s this bad person for creating the monster but they dont think about how smart he had to have been to even create it. All he wanted to do was create a friend but it ended up backfiring because people were scared and didnt like the monster . I feel as if people shouldn’t judge a book by its cover. People didnt know how the monster was, they just thought he was scary looking and automatically didnt like him and were terrified of him.
