Imagine hearing your own kid screaming in discomfort due to the fact that of witches. Then, think of being woken up by individuals pounding at your front door. Envision sitting there in a court space being accused for being a witch. Unfortunately this is what took place in the Salem Witch Trials, which happened in Salem, Massachusetts. The Salem Witch Trials were a dark time in American history, since innocent individuals were hanged.
This was a period of time were villagers were accusing each other of being witches.
Twenty individuals were hanged because of villagers accusing them of practicing witch craft. The Salem Witch Trials occurred in Salem, Massachusetts. This began in the winter season of 1692 and after that ended in the fall of 1693. Individuals were killed since the villagers' thought in witch craft and witches.
The Salem Witch Trials were begun by the two girls Elizabeth Parris and Sarah Osborne. Everybody thought that it was just a disease called Ergot and that they were affected by it.
Later on in this experience of the 2 ladies villagers started believing that it was witchcraft. Individuals were saying they saw women with the Devil, Satan, practicing witch craft. So Samuel Parris, Elizabeth Parris' dad, came to a conclusion of his servant, Tituba, being a witch and had been talking with Satan. As quickly as he had actually concerned this conclusion, he rushed house, and began blaming her for whatever happening to his child and her cousin Sarah Osborne.
This was a dark time because of people being hanged for no good of a reason.
One man was even crushed by stones because people started believing that all those people were witches and were caught practicing witch craft. People were also afraid that their children were going to start acting weird as well. They wanted to put this to a stop but it wouldn’t work because there was more and more people being accused of being a witch. This occurred because of villagers’ belief in witches and them coming in contact with Satan. Also, because villagers’ were claiming of seeing women practicing witch craft.
