Oberon orders Puck to fetch the magic flower to use its powers to make Titania fall in love with a creature of his choosing.
In Shakespeare's play A Midsummer Night's Dream, Oberon is a powerful fairy king who is upset with his queen, Titania. He wants revenge for her refusal to give him a young Indian servant boy, whom he desires as a knight. In order to make her submit to his desires, he orders his trickster servant, Puck, to find a magical flower called love-in-idleness. This flower has special powers because it was once struck by Cupid's arrow, which gives it the ability to make someone fall in love with the first thing they see upon awakening after it has been placed on their eyelids. Oberon decides to use the flower's power to make Titania fall in love with some ridiculous creature, thereby humiliating her.
