Introduction

Malala yousafzai is an eminent activist who stands up to the rights of education for children. She has won numerous awards throughout her life like the noble peace prize in 2014. She helps young children all around the world who can't have education like her and have no access to schooling at all.

Early life

Malala Yousafzai was born on July 12th 1997 at Mingora, Pakistan. Her parents, Ziauddin and Toor Pekai yousafzai, were very supportive especially her dad. Yousafzai has two younger brothers Atal and Khushal yousafzai her name means 'grief-stricken' and she was titled after an Afghanistan woman who was a warrior and poet.

When she was only ten the Taliban men made the girls stop going to school including the one she went to, which her dad had built for the children who were too poor to afford to go to school.

Malala's dad told her to make a blog explaining what was happening in her life and how the Taliban men have closed nearly all the schools in there town.

At the age of 11, more people had begun to read her story so she got motivated to speak up using her real name, she was using gul Makai.

Malala had stopped her blog because she had become well known by now.

Malala had really liked learning she had spoken, "One child, one teacher, one book, one pen can change the world."

Journey to success

In November 2012 Malala was on her way to school when a Taliban gunman came into the school bus and said, 'who is Malala' which frightened everyone on the bus.

With a few looks going towards her, Malala found the courage to reply to the gunman and he walked up to her with the gun in his hand and shot her in the head.

Malala was soon rushed to hospital close by to her school.

The gunman had shot her because she had become well-known by now for standing up for herself and education rights. 15 year old going against of what the Taliban men were saying.

Once they couldn't find the right treatment in Mingora for her they transferred her to a hospital in Birmingham England 10 days after the shooting.

Notability

After Malala was shot she got more known by people even if they didn't read her blog. Once Malala was better and could leave the hospital she told her story and she had said," I tell my story not because it's unique, but because it is the story of many girls."

Malala has won many awards throughout her life so far, one of her famous one is: In 2014 Malala had won the Noble Peace Prize making her the youngest person ever to receive one considering she was only 17 at the time. In the same year Malala had published her autobiography I am Malala, which is now a bestseller with over 1.8m copies sold.

Malala has now gotten an award named after her which is now called the National Malala Peace Prize, created in 2011.

Current times

Malala yousafzai now learns economics, politics and philosophy at Oxford University, she had started attending there in 2018.

Malala had gotten more motivated to help children that couldn't go to school by making her charity event, Malala Fund. Malala Fund supports the children who don't have the education they need so by donating to them will help children to have school supplies, go to a school even if none are close by.

Legacy

Malala is well-known for being an activist by helping children who can't go to school or don't have enough money to buy school supplies or afford to go to school.
