Richard Parker is a Bengal tiger and the main antagonist in Yann Martel’s 2001 novel Life of Pi. The tiger is stranded on a lifeboat with the novel’s protagonist, Pi, for 227 days after their ship sinks. The tiger is initially aggressive towards Pi, but the two eventually develop a bond.
