Written by Sir Thomas Malory, Le Morte d’Arthur is a classic work of literature that tells the story of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. Arthur is a young boy who is raised by his foster father, Sir Hector, after his father, King Uther Pendragon, dies. When Arthur is grown, he marries the beautiful queen, Guinevere. Together, they have many adventures, including the quest for the Holy Grail. Along the way, they make many friends and enemies, and Arthur must face many challenges, both internal and external. In the end, Arthur is betrayed by his nephew Mordred and mortally wounded in battle. Guinevere retires to a convent and Arthur is carried away to the isle of Avalon.
