Eragon is a young farm boy whose life is changed forever when he finds a mysterious stone that turns out to be a dragon egg. When the egg hatches, Eragon befriends the dragon, who he names Saphira. Together, they embark on a quest to find the rebel group Varden in order to overthrow the evil king Galbatorix. Along the way, they make new allies and enemies, and discover that Eragon has special powers that make him a very powerful Dragon Rider.
