"Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" is a novel written by J.K Rowling, a fantasy book filled with many twists and turns. It has won many best-seller awards since its release. However, in this article, we will examine the differences and similarities between the book and movie versions of "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone".
Both the book and the movie are highly enjoyable, but the book has many more minor details that the movie couldn't fit in. For example, the movie failed to find an actor who fully matched Harry's description, such as his green eyes, which are described in the book, but are blue in the movie.
Although it's a small detail, many viewers noticed it.
Another difference is in the beginning of the book, when Harry takes a nap under a tree at the Dursleys' home. When he wakes up, he notices a red cat sitting still on the post box beside him. However, in the movie, Uncle Vernon notices the cat standing suspiciously still, while Harry backs away feeling awkward.
Despite differences in characters and scenes, the book provides more detailed descriptions of appearances, such as Uncle Vernon, who is described in the book as "a big, beefy man with hardly any neck, although he has a big mustache," while the movie gives nearly no context on his appearance.
Nonetheless, the movie and the book are both great, even with minor differences.
We recommend watching/reading both the book and the movie, as they are both highly entertaining with their own unique twists and turns.
