Messi’s caring parents eventually took him to the doctor who revealed that he had growth hormone deficiency. This condition required he will only grow up when he goes through a special treatment with a cost of 1500 euro per month. His parents could barely afford this treatment so his father had no choice but to enroll him at FC BARCELONA, after going for a trial performance, he was picked and the football club took over his treatment expenses.

In the college system of FC Barcelona, Messi was a quiet boy who was initially mistaken for being muted by his teammates. Homesick, he built his talent early and has a good dribbling instinct. His daily work included training during the day and receiving hormonal growth injections in the evening.

In mid 2003, Messi grew naturally and the routine continued. In the same year’s friendly match, he made his debut with the first team of FC Barcelona, Jose Mourinho Porto. His impressive performance in the game won the positive comments of sports writers and Barcelona star player (at that time) Ronaldinho spoke highly of Messi’s talent and also met him.

Over the years, Messi has been getting better and better in Barcelona and reached his first historical high in the 2008-2009 seasons, when he helped Barcelona achieve its first triple in the Spanish football world. This development also saw him win the Ballon d’Or and FIFA World Player of the year at the age of 22. The rest, as they say, is history.
