McDonalds has several competitors. These are KFC, Burger King, Subway etc. .

Workforce planning is the process of arranging what is needed and what is not needed in a company.

This is necessary because Mcdonalds need to figure out customer priorities. They need to keep on top of what is favourable to the customers and what is not as it can result in a loss of customers and profit if they do not. Mcdonalds are a company known for its constant recruitment. This recruitment needs to occur for several reasons. The first reason is that the Mcdonalds business is always growing which means new stores are always being opened.

If more stores are opened, more staff will need to be recruited as the stores need staff to function. Stores are opened globally which means the recruitment occurs globally.

Another reason is that employees within McDonalds are constantly changing roles which leaves spaces in the roles that these employees leave within McDonalds. In order for the company to work efficiently then all places within it need to be occupied by people. This is another reason why recruitment within McDonalds is always occurring as these roles need to be filled by the recruits.

Another reason why recruitment is always occurring is that systems within McDonalds are always upgrading and changing. McDonalds need to recruit people that can operate these changes. On a smaller scale in the evening after school/work Mcdonalds receive more customers therefore more staff are needed to operate the stores at these times.
