This report is prepared as a requirement of the course “Principles of Marketing. ” In our country Banoful & Co.
Ltd is doing very well business. So many competitors are in this sector. Lots of new sweetmeats companies entered this market. From all of them we select Banoful & Co. Ltd. Though it is a sweetmeat company, it has proved itself in the related industry as a major competitor. In this report we have followed the guidelines provided by the teacher.
This is the report comes from our MKT-224 subject.
The Course instructor Mr. Jahangir Alam orally authorized the task of preparing the report to a group of student. He gave this report to learn the way to analyze the sweetmeat marketing in Sylhet. To follow the syllabus of our subject, this topic comes forward. So, we have to do some relevant study based on our report.
The broad objective of this report is to provide an overview of Banoful & Co. Ltd. The specific objective of this report is to provide information about sweetmeats marketing of Banoful & Co. Ltd. in Sylhet.
We worked on Banoful & Co. Ltd. As our topic of report. We went to Dargah Gate, Sylhet branch of Banoful & Co. Ltd.
For prepare this report we faced some barriers. When we went to collect information about Banoful & Co. Ltd in the branch, for being busy they did not give information in the afternoon. So, we had to go in evening to gather info.
That’s the only limitation of this report. In Sobhanighat branch, they do not provide any information.
For our report we collect data for finding & analysis. We also collected some data from the internet.
We follow a particular method for collecting data to complete the report accurately. We use primary data for this report. At first we prepared a questionnaire. Then we went to one of the branch of Banoful & Co. Ltd.
Banoful Group, established in 1989, they are an exporter of Bangladesh Other Seasonings & Condiments products. With the vision to provide the nutritious and healthy food stuff Banoful & Company Ltd starts its journey in the year of 1990. The Company got the certificate of incorporation in 28 March, 1990.
The Registration number is CHC 652/131of 1990 from the joint Stock Commission under Commerce Ministry. After the successful operation in a limited arena in the year 1995 the company started the commercial production. Customer satisfaction and fast introducer of modern technology in food industry along with innovation of different type of taste created the success path for the company. They have exported products to many other countries, such as- Southeast Asia, Mid East, and Eastern Asia. Our main business goal is to provide top quality products for our customers.
Banoful & Company Ltd has mainly three types of products, they are-
The main product of Banoful & Company Ltd is sweetmeats. Mainly, they has 150-280 kinds of sweets items, of them they do not produce all kinds of sweets. Some kinds of sweets they occasionally produce. Normally, they produce 120-150 kinds of sweets daily. The most necessary raw-materials are milk, sugar & butter. They collect milk from dairy firms, & sugar & butter from the market. Normal type of sweets has a high demand. On the occasions of results, Pohela Boishakh, birthday, & marriage, there is high demand of their sweet products in the market. On Other days in the year; such as- in rainy day, there is low demand of their sweet products in the market.
Banoful & Company LTD. as many types of confectionaries; such as- bakery biscuit and crackers (Orange Gold Tin, Marie Gold Tin, Granola Tin, Bakery Tin, Banoful D Biscuit, Gluco) ,laacha semai, fried noodles, egg noodles, chanachur ,sonpapri ,popcorn, tea, chocolate, cake. Moreover, it is found that in overall, Biscuit type of items has a low demand in the market. Because many type of biscuits are available in market.
Banoful & Company Ltd’s one of the product item is fast-food. They produce many tasty and delicious fast-foods. Pizza, beef sandwich ,chicken sandwich, vegetable sandwich, chicken burger, beef burger, hamburger, French fries, hot dogs, patties, fried chicken, chicken toast, chicken nuggets, shingara, somocha, kebabs , lacchi, drinks, fresh fruit juice & soft drinks are the fast-food items.
In addition, in the holy month of Ramadan, Banoful & Company Ltd serves customer with special iftar-items; like- Aakhni, Halim, Alur chop, egg ball, jalli kebab, shami kebab, kashmiri kebab, bakorkani, beguni, sula-baji, piajju, jilapi, mashrum chop, onthon etc.
The majority of customer of Banoful & Company Ltd is men. About 60% of customer is men, who buy the various product of Banoful & Company Ltd. Besides, about 40% customers are women. 2. 4 Relation between Salesmen & Customer: It is not possible to produce excellent product not only by machine alone, but also processing know-how and belief to unit of all staffs mind is important. Taking that in our view they have framed their management to an expertise team going to provide excellent product before the honorable consumer.
Now 2000 work force are employed to meet up the ultimate customer satisfaction along with to smooth the production process. From the survey on Banoful & Company Ltd, we come to know that the salesmen of them always try to maintain good relationship with customers. They try their best to fulfill the customer’s satisfaction.
Competitors Banoful & Company Ltd thinks Fulkoli Food Products Ltd. as it’s main competitor as it has become very famous in the present sweetmeat market like Banoful . Like Banoful, it is also successfully operating it’s business in Bangladesh.
In price fixation, the Costing Department of Banoful & Company Ltd, determines the prices of products. Besides, they also take the market into account for fix the price. Furthermore, they also remark the way in which their competitors resolute the price of the product. Moreover, Price is also decided by the “Mishtanno Shomiti”. Banoful & Company Ltd also attempt to make the product reasonable to customer for consume their product to satisfy their needs along with good product variation and quality.
After producing the product in factory, Banoful & Company Ltd distributes their product by zone distributor. In Sylhet the zone in charge is Mr. Kamal Hossain, DGM (Marketing). In Sylhet, distribution offices are: 1. Md. Joynul Abedin Sales Manager Banoful & Co. Ltd. C/O: M/S M. S. Enterprise (Banoful Dealer) 18, Mowban, Jatarpur, Sobhanighat, Sylhet. 2. Md. Jahangir Alam Sales Manager Banoful & Co. Ltd. C/O: M/S M. S. Enterprise (Banoful Dealer) 18, Mowban, Jatarpur, Sobhanighat, Sylhet.
Profit is distributed by accounts department of zone partners, according to the sell of each branch. Besides, each branch receives commission on the basis of their product sales.
Banoful & Co. Ltd. pays 5% vat for Sweets & 2% vat for Bakery. Further more, each branch has to pay tax in their income, and from the factory, Banoful & Co. Ltd has to pay tax. The company paid BDT. Million as TAX & BDT 12 Million as Vat in the last Fiscal Year.
Social Responsibility: Every business organization’s business activities have an impact on society. Banoful & Co. Ltd is not exceptional from this obligation. t has some responsibilities toward the consumers, employees, investors, & environment. The slogan of Banoful & Co. Ltd is “Bishuddo khabar er bikkhato nam”. The prime motive that they uphold is to promote public welfare through supply of pure and nutritious food in absolute hygienic way. Banoful & Co. Ltd takes care of their employees and stands beside them in their vexation. They are specially concern about the welfare of environment. They try to create less environment pollution.
In present sweetmeat market Banoful & Co. Ltd. is one of the best sweetmeat companies in Bangladesh. Since 1990, this company has been successfully operating its business. Banoful & Co. Ltd. will concern its business based on 6 basic elements such as Inexpensive, Delicious, Nutritious, Hygienic, Attractive and Convenient. Good variation and quality is the main strength of the company and it helps the company to become leading national band in Bangladesh. They have a cherished goal a goal to gear up the progress and prosperity in the food sector which will undoubtedly be a tool for economic development in the country.
