A Very Severe Trend of a Culture of Rape

According to the National Statistics on Sexual Violence from the Connecticut Alliance, ' only about 2% of all sexual assault accusations reported to police turn out to be false .' Although young adults are impressionable to peer pressure and social trends within the circle of the community they should still be held accountable for what they did no matter the age. Three women accused nominee runner of the United States of America Supreme Court, Judge Kavanaugh of sexual assault. This brings up the bigger issue of high profiled men getting away with rape and sexual misconduct because of power dynamics, this type of example would normalize and justify the horrendous act of unwanted sexual advances.

Furthermore, if rape culture is brought to light through news outlets, yet, the actions the men have committed are not brought to justice because of their status than the American public will view the actions as doable in their standards. People that disagree with the FBI investigation on Judge Kavanaugh believe that adults shouldn't be held accountable for their actions when they were children.

People who believe Kavanaugh should be removed as a nominee, see that the violent tendencies and mentality that this person previously had based on evident behavior shouldn't be qualifications for a judge who guarantees justice for the governmental system.

To ensure safety and public justice for all sexes of people who come in the United States of America, Judge Kavanaugh should be withdrawn as a nominee of the Supreme Court of Justice. According to the U#S# Canon 1 of the Code Of Conduct For United States Judges, ' A judge should maintain and enforce high standards of conduct and should personally observe those standards, so that the integrity and independence of the judiciary may be preserved .

' If the justice system deems the alleged behavior of Kavanaugh untrue and a case of defamation, although it does not seem fair, he should still legally be able to be a nominee for the Supreme Court Circuit.

Yet in the past, the justice system did not do enough to prevent people of higher political power from running that have sexual misconduct allegations against them. People such as Ruben Kihuen, Blake Farenthold, Donald Trump, and in this instance, Brett Kavanaugh give a negative image on the United States of America because it speaks on how much the government doesn't care about corrupt people running their system. In the recent courtroom trial of Judge Kavanaugh, his character was put into question and Erwin Chemerinsky, dean of the UC Berkeley School of Law, Erwin Chemerinsky stated because of his behavior in the courtroom ' There will be damage to the court and its reputation. ' (David, 2018 ).

This man prayed on women and girls at a vulnerable state when he was a child and young adult, So he should not have the audacity to be eligible to nominate as a judge giving justice for the people. This brings up the situation of whether or not the American law protects the rights of women if case after case is being dropped or dismissed due to a need that was not met. Is unacceptable behavior such as this going to be allowed for people of power to continue doing in the public eye? Or do we as the public citizens have the obligation to voice the injustice going on through our eyes. We must unite against rape culture, and it must begin with calling out high profiled people.
