In his first few days in workplace, President Barack Obama issued executive orders and governmental memoranda directing the U. S. military to establish plans to withdraw troops from Iraq, while he could have let the US military continue devastating that part of the world on the basis of incorrect claims made by the previous senator. Our public figures are not only well known, but admired and liked. However, with their fame and greatness come terrific expectations from us, the public. Under their relatively exotic outer shell and popularity, they are simply normal individuals like the common guy on the street.
Even in literature, public figures are confronts with expectations of being best.
For instance, in To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, Atticus Finch is a widely known regional lawyer. He has a general good reputation, and he is an extremely found out guy; nevertheless, one day, he chooses to safeguard a black man in a case against a white male.
The black man is founded guilty of raping the white guy's child, and despite the fact that all charges are dealt with towards the white man lying, the black man is shown guilty.
Atticus Finch receives a lot of hatred for his decision to face someone who differs from him, and his children likewise hear a lot from the citizens of their town. The residents of his town constantly considered him as somebody who they could appreciate, however when he defies their preliminary trust with something that they could not even think of, they begin deteriorating him.
In this method, the public expects a lot from their public figures, because they influence it to lead others in the very same method.
Winston Churchill once said "If individuals of the United States had actually continued in an average station, having problem with the wilderness, absorbed in their own affairs, and an element of no repercussion in the motion of the world, they may have stayed forgotten and undisturbed beyond their securing oceans: however one can not rise to remain in lots of methods the prominent community in the civilized world without being involved in its issues, without being convulsed by its agonies and influenced by its causes." It is also apparent that public figures are confronted with lots of expectations in daily life.
For instance, the current American president, Barack Obama. It is already extremely difficult to actually be president, but Obama is, arguably, president during one of the hardest times in history. He has been ruling us through a difficult recession, capture of a very dangerous terrorist, and just hard times in general. However, even though he is most likely trying his hardest in order to be a successful president, he has to always be careful because even a minor slip-up can cause citizens to stop believing in him as a success.
