Having this implemented, the administrator/head organizer and the receptionist will have the ability to conveniently access customers within and outside the vicinity of Antipolo. Thus giving them ease and less burden of encoding, recording and generating reports manually. Also with this online reservation system femar’s customers will have the convenience of reserving a room or booking an event whenever they want at the comfort of their own home.
Integrating their reservation system with a more modern online based reservation system and better software, information processed will become more precise, reliable, accessible and secure, with the use of internet, interview and observation method the proponents suggest a simple yet systematic implementation of an online based reservation system whose software will include modules such as home module, Registration and Verification, Security, booking/event planning, Log-in, monitoring (calendar, rooms, confirmed reservation, pending reservation, not completed and users/members account), repots, file maintenance, FAQ/help and about module. 86
It was year 1991 when FEMAR Garden Hotel and Resort was initially establish as an outdoor swimming cited at scenic beauty of Taktak Hills, Antipolo City and is about 15 minute drive away from Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage Church. It is owned by Felix B. Mariñas of FEMAR Realty and Development Corporation. This is fully equipped with three sanitized pools, pavilions sheds, umbrellas and family rooms to relax and enjoy the gratification of our place away from the polluted area of the wide city. Because of the rising demand for functions and retreat places, a facility to accommodate conventions, trainings and seminars has been built in 2002–the Hotel. The former reception area has been restructured and was created into a more pleasurable venue to stay with.
Completely facilitated double, triple to quintiple standard and executive rooms with individual hygienic rest rooms, closets, intercoms, etc., this area serves as a perfect idea for recreation as well as an appropriate venue to commemorate your special day such as birthday, wedding, anniversaries and many others. The existing system in Femar Garden Hotel and Resort still uses a manual procedure in generating reports of their reservation such as log book, planner, guest book and other forms. Even the transferring and sorting of data/ records are done manually which can lead to inaccurate data. The current reservation system is done through filling up a registration form provided by the company wherein the client has to indicate some personal information and data’s about the reservation which seems to be redundant and inappropriate. With their existing system, the security of each files are very low for they only kept it in a folder and stored it in a filing cabinet which can be access by any unauthorized person in the company. The possibility of misplacing and tampering the files is at a high risk.
Upgrading to a new and more modern system will benefit not just the company but most specially their clients/customers. With the use of the internet, the company can now have the advantage to advertising their company not just within the vicinity of Antipolo but also outside its location. Errors from manually generating of reports and recording of clients data will be lessen because the system will automatically verify the information before generating the needed reports thus resulting to a lesser need for administrators/staff to double check their paper works and the needs of processing too many information will be reduced. The proponents gathered all available information by means of the internet, library observation and interviews with administrator/head organizer. To determine if the proposed system is achievable, a Feasibility Study is conducted to give alternative solutions to the existing system. The system has been tested for feasibility in the following ways:
Technical feasibility is concerned with the hardware and software needed in order to develop the proposed system. The proponents selected software such as Windows 7 Starter Edition 32 bit (OEM) for the operating system, PHP version 5 as the front-end and MY SQL back-end in this system. The use of a domain name over the internet will also be required to successfully implement the online reservation. Operational feasibility will determine whether the proposed system have enough resources for its implementation. This will require the assigned personnel in order to develop the said proposed system, such as the researcher which will investigate the study of the existing system, to know the design that will be appropriate for the improvement of the system.
The system analyst is the one to strategize on how the proposed system would work, and what functions are needed to service the user of the system. Finally the programmer will bring life to the new system, with the information gathered from the researcher and the system analyst. He/she will design and install the software needed to best create the new system. The end-users is accountable in operating the system as opposed to the developer of the system who is responsible for adding and updating new function and features for the end-users.
Economic feasibility includes a broad range of concerns that include cost benefit analysis which includes the cost and expenditures, as well as the probable benefits and projected return on investment. This will help the administrators to decide if they will pursue on this project.

The proponents have devised a system that will streamline the procedure of processing reservations with an online reservation system with the following modules:
1.) Increasing the security and confidentiality of each files and report by providing a security module, a log-in form that will have two (2) levels of access. The first will be the administrator of the system and the customer for the second level of access. Each will have a unique username and password thus making the system more secured not only for the company but also to other users of the system. In addition only those who are registered members of the system will have the privileged of reserving and booking of rooms and events, thus restricting unregistered members from reserving/booking a room or event, making their system more organized and efficient.
2.) With the implementation of MySQL 5.0 as the systems back end which is more advance and has additional features compare to other databases, the company will have the benefit of a less expensive data storage because it is popular and free to download in addition it is very customizable, the user can customize its function with the knowledge of technical know-how. Furthermore data’s that are stored in MySQL are very accessible and can be easily manipulated with a basic knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL) which is easy to learn and use, and is available on different operating systems moreover creating backup for the saved data’s will provide ease for every user of the system.
3.) The system will provide a monitoring module that will display an overview of the system which is accessible only to the admin. With this the admin can easily view which dates are available or unavailable for any event reservation, this will also indicate which room/function halls are available for reservation; furthermore the system will also provide an organized view of confirmed reservation, pending reservations, not completed reservation and user’s overview and since it is computerized and done in real time, every reservation done will automatically be counted and will display the remaining available dates and room/function halls.
4.) Searching and retrieving of records would be easier since there would be a search module that would filter all the needed records. Having a search module will lessen the time of looking for records that is done manually on the existing system.
5.) Upgrading to online based system will help the company to increase their exposure to other possible client/s in and out of the country. Moreover the website will have twenty four (24) hours access for end users. Aside from increasing the company’s exposure, this will also serve as their competitive marketing strategy promotion of their company to overcome the other competitor’s innovation.
In this generation there is an increasing demand for a faster and more high tech way of processing or doing any kind of transactions. Most of the Hotels provide goods and services using web-based system. It helps to perform task in an easy way with less time consumed. Some companies are become fully automated while others strive for the manual procedure on making reservations. Femar hotel and garden resorts manual reservation and booking system old, outdated, worn down, and cannot be expected to be applied to the increasing demand for a higher and much better services. The proponents recommend to the next developer or future researcher to: 1. Include the company’s other additional services as part of the booking/reservation system. 2. Upgrade the system to online inquiry, so that the client can easily get a feedback or answer once they send an inquiry or message. 3. Upgrade the system by including online payment through PayPal, thus giving their client the ease of easily and immediately paying their reservation fee without leaving their own home. 4. Include an audit trail, to track the time of log-in and log-out of the user. 5. Enable editing of content for other modules.
