Gatsby throws parties as part of his elaborate scheme to win back the love of his life, Daisy Buchanan. In F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel "The Great Gatsby," Gatsby is a wealthy and mysterious man who throws extravagant parties at his mansion on Long Island. The parties are a way for him to attract Daisy's attention and show off his wealth and status. Despite the fact that Daisy does attend one of the parties, Gatsby's plan ultimately fails, and he is unable to recapture the past with her.
