Who Are The Suitors In The Odyssey?

In Homer's epic poem The Odyssey, the suitors are a group of men who have taken over Odysseus's palace in Ithaca and are vying for the hand of his wife, Penelope. The suitors are described as arrogant and disrespectful, and they eat and drink Odysseus's provisions with abandon. When Odysseus returns home after a long absence, he disguises himself and devises a plan to rid his home of the suitors and reclaim his rightful place as king.
