The Little Prince is a story about a boy who lives on a small planet and goes on a journey to learn more about the universe.
The Little Prince tells the story of a pilot who crashes his plane in the desert, and meets a little boy who tells him about his life. The little prince is a prince who has left his home planet to travel around the universe. He befriends a fox and a snake, and then as they part ways, he meets an adult human man who teaches him that adults are not worth listening to because they are too busy being 'serious' and 'important'. The little prince returns home to his planet, but soon realises that there is no one there for him anymore.
The book is written in first person present tense from the perspective of a narrator recounting the events of the story. It is often called an anti-war novel because it shows how people can become so involved with their own lives that they forget about others around them.
