My Fascination With Teaching Profession

Teaching has always been a passion of mine since I was younger. I was thinking about teaching as a profession during last few years and in this essay I want to express why I have this passion and what experience I have already had. <p><p>As a person I have a strong interest in teaching and seeing the impact of it on children, this was something that was seen from my work experience as I was shadowing a teacher in a primary school setting.

Where I was helping the children to read and timetables which helps the build their foundation for the rest of their life. I have chosen to do this course as I believe that this will put me on the right path when heading towards teaching, and which results me in having the skills required to teach but give the children the basis of their education. My A Level choices have meant that I am prepared with the skills I will need to further my education and work with young children.

My doing Philosophy and Ethics for an A-Level has meant that I have been able to see the sides of an argument and see which is the best, this is critical for caring for young children as you need to have an order in the class room. Another subject I have done is Geography, this has mean that I care about the environment and try to preserve it for further generations, but also by being a core subject at primary school then I will have an understanding for what it entails.

My final A Level is Photography as I will need to be creative and relay information to the children in different and exciting ways to keep all the children engaged with what they are learning.

I have experience which relates to teaching, which has helped me to see this is the career I want to follow. I currently have a part-time job at an afterschool club at Sonning CofE school, which I have been at since September 2017. My jobs allow me to engage with children at a school setting but be a fun role-model a someone that the children can talk to. While being able to work in a team for example when Ofsted came to inspect the club, but also able to work individually like getting the year four and fives to play football with the year six’s, so they can be as a cohort and not separate years playing. I also help at Energy Kidz holiday club where I have been able to motivate all the children to join in a talent competition, so no one was left out. While working in these two places I have been working with conflict as not all the children will get on together, so I have had to make sure children who do not get on are separate. During my time as a young leader and leader at my local cub group, which I have been volunteering at since 2013. I have been working with large groups like running games at the start of each evening, but also running activates at a smaller level like making slime. This is something which helps in my future career as I would be able to work with the whole school but also the class.

I am a passionate kayaker, which can be shown by having my 2-star award from British canoeing. I am also currently working towards by 1-star coaching award. Which would mean I can help run sessions which would mean I can further my leadership skills. This would mean I am able to deal with challenging situations in challenging areas whilst keeping a cool head.
