For most of my life, I have been involved in some activities at my school and even during the summer. From attending basketball camps, vacation bible school, and even starting my own hair bow business. These experiences helped me to realize early in life I wanted to be in a profession where I could work with and help people. My involvement in the various activities helped me to grow in school, life, and with my family. Being involved in those activities helped me to realize that to be successful in life I had to go further than high school.

At a very young age, I have always had a love for math and numbers. As a result of my love for math and numbers, I would always tell people that I wanted my career to be dealing with math. In my first year of high school, I took a business fundamentals class. That class allowed me to understand the fundamentals of business and what business itself was all about.

As my freshman year progressed, I realized that I not only had a passion for math, but I also enjoyed business.

After some research, I have found that many jobs dealing with math are in the business field. I have decided to pursue a degree in accounting. Becoming an accountant is one of the dreams that I plan to work hard at and achieve, among my dreams and goals. After graduating from high school, I plan to attend college and major in business or accounting which will allow me to become one step closer to achieving my dream of becoming a certified public accountant.

For a prosperous career in today’s society, I strongly believe that it is necessary to have a college degree or a post-graduate degree. Graduating from college is the most common route to take to have a successful career. Although getting a college education can be an expensive and lengthy process, first-time college students need to understand the results of obtaining a college degree. In today’s society, most people settle with just an associate's or bachelor’s degree, but a surprising fact about a college education is that the more education you have the more money a person can earn in their career.

The majority of the highest-paying jobs in the world today require a college degree. Earning a college degree, whether it is a bachelor’s, master’s degree, or Ph.D., will guarantee a person more job opportunities, better pay, and excellent fringe benefits. This combination of benefits is the main reason why people make sacrifices and invest so much time into obtaining a college degree. Experiencing college life allows an individual to gain a variety of intellectual benefits. College provides an individual with the opportunity to explore the world. It allows the person an opportunity to learn about topics that an individual has never heard of before and broadens professional networking skills. Furthermore, it is a chance to enhance your knowledge and level of thinking. College work will challenge individuals in ways that an individual is not familiar with.

In conclusion, earning a college degree allows me an opportunity to discover my passion. Most first-time college students are aware of what they are interested in but not what they have a passion for. Many people also enter college unaware of what career they want to pursue in life. College allows me to explore and try out different options for my dreams and goals. Not only will earning a college degree allow me to find my passion but also find my purpose in life.
