Nowadays, it seems that every time we turn on the television, there is an incident of gun violence in the news. School shootings, domestic violence and other forms of firearm abuse, make up most of the content displayed in social media. This controversial subject has become a common topic of debate all over the country for its importance in society. People and institutions should require the increase of gun control in the United States of America because of several factors.

One of the most obvious reasons why guns should be banned is the growing rate of murders and crimes in the American society.

Guns are used every year to commit crimes and murders, not only in the United States, but also all over the world. Even though most of these crimes are not planned and guns are used just to scare people to give them everything they ask for, it always has a tragic ending. According to some statistics, gun violence result in 50% of today's tragedies.

If guns in general were not that accessible and it was not that easy to get one, most of these terrible crimes will not happen so often.

Additionally, guns are capable of ending a precious life in a few minutes. Guns are created to destroy the same lives that doctors worked so hard to save. Furthermore, we know that guns do not kill people, people kill people. Sometimes, people who buy these arms, have unstable feelings or tempers that can easily lead to violent actions.

For example, in a TV Show, a husband shot his wife and his daughter because she did not want to be with him anymore, and then he killed himself. Later on, it became known that he had bipolar problems. This is why there should be a system where gun sellers can verify its buyers.

Some people may argue that there are other uses for guns including sports, hunting and personal protection. However, it is certainly the case that guns are more used to commit other crimes like robberies and murder than to protect ourselves. There were 427 cases in the United States in 2017, and more than 15, 000 people were killed in these firearms incidents.
