Gregor Samsa

Gregor Samsa is the main character in The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka. He wakes up one morning to find himself transformed into a giant insect and struggles to deal with the consequences of his transformation. He is portrayed as a hardworking salesman who cares deeply about his family, but as a result of his insect form, becomes isolated from them.

Grete Samsa (Gregor’s sister)

Grete Samsa is the younger sister of Gregor Samsa in The Metamorphosis. She initially cares for her insect-like brother, but eventually becomes resentful and disgusted by him. Throughout the book, she is portrayed as a symbol of Gregor’s lost humanity and deteriorating relationships with his family.

Mr. Samsa (Gregor’s father)

Mr. Samsa is a middle-aged man who works as a traveling salesman. He is initially portrayed as a stern and unsympathetic father who is more concerned with his son’s ability to work than his well-being. However, as the story progresses, he begins to show some compassion towards his transformed son, though he ultimately sees him as more of a burden than anything else.
