St. John Rivers

St. John Rivers is a stern, ambitious, and highly driven religious man with a strong sense of duty. He is Jane’s cousin and takes her in after her escape from Thornfield. He spends much of his time as a missionary in India and believes it is his duty to lead others to righteousness.
