Uriah Heep

Uriah Heep is the antagonist in Charles Dickens’ novel, David Copperfield. He is a slimy, manipulative clerk who constantly seeks to ingratiate himself with his superiors and bring down those who stand in his way. He is known for his obsequiousness and his constant use of the phrase, I am humble. Ultimately, he is revealed to be a fraud and a villain who has used his wit and deviousness to achieve power and wealth.
