John Thornton

John Thornton is a skilled hunter and gold prospector in Jack London’s Call of the Wild. He is the only human who shows kindness and compassion towards the novel’s main character, a dog named Buck. Thornton rescues Buck from mistreatment and forms a deep bond with him.
