Bernard Marx

Bernard Marx is a character in Aldous Huxley’s novel, Brave New World. He is an intelligent and introspective individual who feels like an outsider in the highly structured society of the World State. Bernard is also physically smaller than other men in his caste and is often mocked for it. Despite his skepticism towards certain aspects of the society, he initially follows the rules and values social acceptance. However, as the story progresses, he becomes more rebellious and starts to question the lack of individuality and emotional connection in his world.

Helmholtz Watson

Helmholtz Watson is a highly intelligent and talented writer who feels stifled by the rigid conformity of the World State in Brave New World. He seeks to express himself more fully, but is hampered by the limitations of his society. He becomes a close friend and confidant of the novel’s protagonist, John the Savage.

John the Savage in the book Brave New World is a character who was born and raised outside of the highly-controlled World State society and is introduced to it as an outsider.

Lenina Crowne

Lenina Crowne is a main character in the dystopian novel Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. She is a beautiful and attractive young woman who works as a hatchery worker and is conditioned by the world around her to pursue pleasure and happiness above all else. She struggles with her own desires and the strict social conventions of her society.

Mustapha Mond

Mustapha Mond is a powerful member of the World State government in Aldous Huxley’s novel Brave New World. He is a World Controller, responsible for maintaining the stability and happiness of society through strict control of the citizens’ behavior and thoughts. Mond is a highly intelligent and articulate man who supports the system of indoctrination and conditioning that is used to maintain social stability, but has also come to understand its limitations and the sacrifices that come with it.
