Intel Corporation Operates in an Oligopolistic Market which is characterized by high barriers to entry, few sellers selling homogenous products making it a case of pure oligopoly. One feature of oligopoly is non-price competition, but as per my experience I haven't witnessed Intel indulging into non-price competition. Intel's products, especially their microprocessors are highly demanded all around the globe and hence it has an inelasticity of demand on its products. Intel pricing follows a First and Third Degree price discrimination. First degree involves selling each unit of the product separately at the highest price possible. Third degree price discrimination can be explained as Intel's processors are cheaper in the USA as compared to the rest of the world. Intel believes in charging the highest possible price when it first launches its product.

Intel serves customers in more than 46 countries and had employed 102.7 thousand employees in about 46 countries according to the intel website. For some communications, connectivity, networking, field programmable, and memory components the company outsources manufacturing to third parties like through contractors.

Intel had a vision of inspiring ongoing innovation boundaries so that their customers can make life more enthusiastic, more fulfilled and easier to manage.
