In exploring the culture signature of her Hellenic heritage, Katrantzou was drawn into the archives, digging through her creative past to establish her own canon of classics. This collection made a return to her trademark of Trompe l’ oeil prints, technically superlative across hourglass seamed dresses and slender trousers with tunics. She made her signature, the peplum echoes the curvaceous lines of the women of Minoan’s “matriarchal religion,” given a new fluidity. A search for timeless modernity, epitomised by Greek classicism, leads Katrantzou to investigate the interpretations of the ancient world by others. An embrace of her own cultural background recontextualises Katrantzou signatures, her prints, her silhouettes, and her heritage. The language is Mary Katrantzou, but the key is Greek. So all the inspiration she got it from her cultures and traditions which she then with this combination she showed up in her designs.

Another designers who inspired by Greek mythology are Stefano Gabbana along with Domenico Dolce, the co-cofounder of Dolce & Gabbana luxury fashion house.

Just like collections of Mary Katrantzou, Cyclades Silk Scarves 2019 Collection by Leo Lama who is a third generation artist and designer who is born in Greece but based in London- Zurich, contains the inspiration from ancient Greek art. With geometrical shapes, antique Gods and symbolism/components of Greek history, the Greek mythology is reflected to the collection. In other words, in the sense that it carries the dazzling beauty and extraordinary creativity of the Greek heritage this creation offers wearable art pieces to the people, which is blended with a unique part of history, unlike ordinary clothes. For instance the scarf (on the right) which is called Silk Scarf Persephone, is inspired by the myth of Persephone and Hades. To briefly mention about this myth, Persephone was the daughter of Demeter (Goddess of nature) and she was kidnapped by Hades who was the God of underworld and she becomes the Goddess of underworld. But Demeter begs to Zeus to protect her daughter and Zeus decides that Persephone can come for 6 months (for summer and spring) and stay 6 months underworld, it means it is believed that she brings the beauty to the world and she is the important part of circle of life. When this scarf is looked through, the story will be seen clearly- she is in the centre of the circles and red gives the message of death. Also the animals, flowers and figures indicates the spring.
