How the Horse Has Evolved Over Time to Adapt to the Climate

Categories: AnimalsHorse

The equine has changed from this small four-toed pig like horse to the horses that we see today. Contrary to common belief, the horse did not evolve over millions of years. Contrary to popular belief, the horse has not evolved through millions of years. They have changed in accordance with the necessities of their climate, it is true, but it has not lasted for millions of years. It's only thousands of years. The strata that show "millions of years of history" are actually layers of sediment that were settled when the earth was under water for forty days, as the book of Genesis says.

The horse started as a small pony sized horse with four toes. As the terrain and the climate changed, the toes receded and became one hoof as the ground became harder. They became taller which allowed to run faster to get away from predators more effectively. The terrain went from a jungle to flat, grassy plains, so the horse couldn't be ambushed as easily as it was in the jungle, and with a kick that could kill, the horse had, and still does, a good chance to defend itself.

Their big bodies are built so they can haul heavy loads. Not all horses are made like the draft horses. Horses that live in desert climates are strong, nimble and have speed and stamina to spare. These horse have long bodies, small heads, large nasal cavities, and strong legs and small hooves. Their long bodies are meant to travel long distances and their strong legs meant for speed. Their small hooves allow them to change direction quickly and allow them the grace and nimbleness of a dancer.
