How Long Did Ancient Egyptian History Last

Categories: Ancient History

The Ancient Egyptian Empire existed for thousands of years, but it wasn't the only empire in the region. The Roman Empire was also a massive political entity that lasted centuries longer than Egypt did, and while they were both powerful civilizations at their height, there are many differences between them.

In terms of longevity, the Egyptian empire lasted for about 3,000 years, while the Roman Empire lasted for 2,000 years. This is an important distinction because this means that Egypt's history spanned over twice as much time as Rome did.

Egypt's ancient history begins with the first dynasty of pharaohs, which began around 3150 BC. The Old Kingdom period, or First Dynasty (3150 - 2181 BC), included as many as eight dynasties that collectively spanned almost 500 years. The first Egyptian dynasty lasted from its founding in 3150 BC until 2181 BC when it ended with the death of Pepi II; the second dynasty started after this time and continued for another 139 years until 2040 BC.

The Ancient Egyptian Empire's history is one of the most fascinating in the world.

It was ruled by Pharaohs, who were considered gods on Earth. The Egyptians were able to create great works of art, including pyramids and sculptures that are still admired today. They also developed an early writing system that allowed them to keep records and pass down their beliefs and traditions through generations.

While there is no exact date when this period began, historians generally agree on around 3100 BCE as a starting point for Ancient Egypt's history because this is when they first started recording their events with hieroglyphics (a type of writing).

The period lasted until 30 BCE when it fell into Roman control after Alexander the Great conquered Egypt during his reign from 332-323 BC.

According to the Encyclopedia Britannica, Ancient Rome grew from a small town in the 8th century BC. The city was founded by Romulus and Remus, who were said to be sons of Mars (the god of war), and their mother was Rhea Silvia. In 753 BC, the king of neighboring Alba Longa asked Romulus to become his successor on the throne; however, the two brothers argued over who would rule and became enemies.

Romulus killed Remus during this conflict and established Rome as his capital instead of Alba Longa. He then ruled for forty-seven years until he was killed by lightning in 716 BC. The Roman Republic was founded in 509 BC after King Lucius Tarquinius Superbus refused to step down from his throne despite growing discontent among his people. He was overthrown by Brutus and Collatinus who restored order within Rome before establishing a republic with elected officials instead of hereditary kings or queens like other ancient civilizations had at that time period.

Hellenistic culture was a fusion of Greek and non-Greek cultures. It was spread after the conquests of Alexander the Great in 334 B.C. Hellenistic culture was spread by Alexander to Egypt.

The Roman Republic lasted from 509 BC to 27 BC, when it was replaced by the Roman Empire. The Republic was a political system where the people elected representatives to represent them in the government. It was a form of government where power rested in the hands of many. The Roman Republic was not a democracy because women, slaves and foreigners were excluded from voting.

Rome was the first Western civilization, and its influence on European history is obvious. It lasted for about 1,000 years, roughly from 27 BC to AD 476. (The Roman Empire began in 31 BC.) The Roman Republic lasted for about 500 years before it became an empire in 27 BC under Octavian Augustus Caesar.

Egypt had a single ruler until it fell to Alexander the Great in 332 BC; after that, Egypt was ruled by other people until its conquest by Rome around 30 BC. The Egyptian empire lasted for about 700 years but had many ups and downs. The Roman Empire lasted even longer, with over 1000 years of history under its belt. The Romans were also able to unite all of Europe under one banner, something that the Egyptians never achieved during their reign (even though they tried).
