The novel also shows the love our parents have for us through Sisa. We can really tell how she loves her children. She even went crazy and died looking for them. My mind was also opened to the issues on our political framework. Up until now there are still corrupt officials in the government. There is still injustice. Social and class discrimination is still rampant. We have gained freedom from our invaders, yet we are still not free from ourselves. I hope that time will come when we will all be free from everything, including our own chains. Let us all hope for a better Philippines.
