Group Personality and Low Self-Esteem
We are titled who we really are by what our group’s personality is. No matter how nice you are in a group of bad people, these people will still call you bad because they would also think that you’re one of them and you would act the same too. Feminist and masculinity theories also deal with the problems that are happening these days. Some say “women aren’t strong” or another saying say “women will only want to be with someone rich and would ignore you if you’re poor”, okay first of all quit all the stereotypes of women as gold diggers because we only wanted to be with rich guys. WE, WOMEN, GIRLS think about our future, not our soulmates. Yes, you could be in love, but if the significant other didn’t have any money, what would the guys give you to eat? Stereotypes like this only make women’s self-confidence low too. She would think that her significant other didn’t really trust her and would only take her for what she looks like. “Pretty girls are skinny” or “tanned skin girls are hot”, are you trying to find a partner or buying groceries? Women aren’t an object! We shouldn’t be treated as one too.
Cruel Stereotypes and Causes of Depression
From the last task, my rationale talks about how a magazine company tries to photoshop a star’s body to make it “body goals”. To be honest, that type of thing should be done very skilfully since they should process details about all the spots they photoshopped so that people looking and buying the magazine won’t notice that it was photoshopped. But what do the models think about being photoshopped? Doesn’t the company think about what they might think or feel about it? These girls work really hard to stabilize their feelings of showing too much skin on a photoshoot and they could just have photoshopped their body, that simple? It took a lot of courage to be able to show your body to the whole world, but by photoshopping their image, they would get even more hate and it could also affected their confidence.
To be able to speak for yourself out there is a good thing to do. If they didn’t notice and get a lot of hate it would be very mean, people these days are so mean that they say un-appropriate words without even feeling bad. That is why the amount of kids, teenagers and adults doing suicide is increasing by the months. It’s because of what they’ve been suffering from and cruel people who won’t notice and bother to ask why because they think that it’s just a simple problem. If you see or know a person that is suffering from depression, don’t stop asking them how their day is, to help them be strong and always have happy thoughts because if they think of doing suicide or ending their lives tragically because they are bullied it would be so heartbreaking for their family and friends.
Importance of Gender Training
The discrimination against women includes those differences of how women are treated because of the stereotypical expectations, attitudes, or personal bias towards the women. Many international human rights treaty bodies have to explain the right to non-discrimination and equality to include those forms of discrimination and inequality that are rooted in stereotypes including gender stereotypes. These obligations include; revising textbooks, ensuring that teachers receive gender training, undertaking public information and education programmes to change the attitudes concerning men and women, and many other things. Thankfully a community called OHCHR (Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights) has already reported and made articles about the stereotypes concerning gender and human rights. The community has already helped with the obligations and is going to help changes the people’s behaviour about it too by having a “human rights council” on their websites for people to do counselling or for the people that wanted to ask about the human rights counselling about what they did wrong and what they should do to change.
