Conflict is sure to occur among team members since all of them are from different backgrounds with different personalities and nobody is perfect. Conflicts can cause a great loss to a team and therefore should not be left unsettled. As a team leader, I will dedicate myself to building great relationships between team members and making sure conflicts are settled immediately. In settling the conflicts between Pat and Jordan and handling the situation, I will first and foremost, identify the source of the conflict because I need to look beyond the incident that happened during the meeting, which might not be the actual cause of the problem.

I will give both of them the chance to share their side of the story. That will help me understand the situation better because the better understanding I have k  the issue, the easier it will be in resolving the issue. I must listen carefully to tiny details and must not take sides because It is always tempting to take sides in a conflict between team members.

I must remain neutral and keep personal emotions away. I must make sure I give Pat and Jordan equal time and opportunity to voice their feelings. Pat and Jordan must agree to work together to resolve the conflict between them because, without an agreement, the issue can't be solved. In doing this, they must set aside their ideas and ego for the time being because their conflict has an effect on the team like the two other team members who mailed are beginning to express their displeasure.

They both need to understand their different points and reasons for their actions and come to the realizationtion of their mistakes to make peace. After they might have made peace, they will haveapologizegise to the entire team members for the actions act so as not to raise any other displeasure within the team. I will involve other team members because they were around when everything happened in the meeting and might find better solutions to how they manageable the issue. When the team membrecognizeizes the impact of the conflict on the team, they will want to help in doing everything possible to resolve the conflict and I can't shut them down because no man is an island of knowledge, thinputputs matters a lot. The team members shoendeavorvour to keep their communications open and not be biased or take sides but give rightejudgmentsents to ease the resolution process. I will have to be proactive to avoid that which will likely escalate the dispute. If I notice tensions running high during the time of settling the misunderstanding, I will encourage them to take a break. A few minutes' walks around the office can do wonders to help calm them down before they say or do something they will regret. I will also not take sides, be biased or let my emotions take the better part of me but will remain calm, listen carefully, and make good decisions in finding solutions to the conflict.
