The spray is totally safe to use, it does not have any harmful effect in the health of your family and your pets.
Statement of the Problem
This study aims to determine the difference between cockroach repellent made from orange and pineapple peel.
Specifically, it seeks to answer the following questions:
1. How may the cockroach repellent made from orange and pineapple peel be described in terms of:
- 1.1. odor;
- 1.2 mortality rate; and
- 1.3 general acceptability.
2. To what extent do cockroach repellent made from orange and pineapple peel differ in terms of:
- 2.1 odor;
- 2.2 mortality rate; and
- 2.3 general acceptability.
Objectives of the Study
This study aims to achieve the following objective:
- 1. To describe the cockroach repellent made from orange and pineapple peel in terms of:
- 1.1 odor;
- 1.2 mortality rate; and
- 1.3 general acceptability.
2. To determine the extent of difference between cockroach repellant made from orange and pineapple peel in terms of odor, mortality rate, and general acceptability.
Hypothesis of the Study
There is no significant variation among the cockroach repellant made from orange and pineapple peel in terms of odor, mortality rate and general acceptability.
Significance of the Study
The findings could provide information beneficial to the following:
To the household, they will benefit from this study for they can use a natural product in killing cockroaches.
To the community, they will benefit and could record the good one because of using this natural cockroach repellent to lessen cases causing disease.
Scope and Delimitations of the Study
The study will be conducted from January- March 2020 at the researcher’s residence at Santa Ignacia, Tarlac. It will be tested and evaluated by randomly selected teachers and students.
Definition of Terms
For better understanding of this study, the following terms were defined based on the resources from which they were drawn and on how these terms will be used in the study.
- Cockroach Repellent. Is a product containing chemicals that you spray in to the air or on your body in order to keep cockroaches away.Orange. It is a type of citrus fruit which people often eat or they can sniff the skin when grinded into smooth powder. Oranges are a very good source of vitamins, especially vitamin C.
- Pineapple. Is a sweet tropical fruit with a tough leathery skin and spiky leaves on top.
- Odor. The property of a substance that activates the sense of smell.
- Mortality Rate. Is the number of deaths in a given area or period, or from a particular cause.
- General Acceptability. The overall acceptance of the product in terms of odor and mortality rate.
Review Related Literature
Presented this chapter are the review of the related literature and studies after thorough done by the researcher which were relevant to the proposed study. This review will focuses on identifying similar work done within the area, and to examine existing findings and suggest further studies.

In warm climates were pest (speci) species are especially abundant, they are often given different names, perhaps to take away some of the stigma that maybe attached to having them in one’s house. ( The repellent may function as a cue for avoiding areas where other cockroaches have died. The repellent is endogenously produced, is distributed throughout the bodies of individuals of both sexes.
Botanical insecticides have long been touted as attractive alternatives to synthetic chemical insecticides for pest management because botanicals reputedly pose little threat to the environment and to human health. ( The control strategies involve chemical insecticides and spray that are detrimental to human and beneficial organisms and might cause ecological as well as resistance problems.
Therefore, these chemical insecticides are to be replaced by biopesticides or low risk insecticides (e.g. Boric acid). Furthermore, the most recent technological advances in cockroach control consist of using bait formulations (Appel, 2004).
