Chirstmas is something that is worldwide. christmas bring joy to everyone around the world. But america's traditions is diffrent from diffrent countries. One of the countries I'm gonna tell you about is France. France has many similarities and diffrents from our tradition in america.

I'm going to tell you both the similaritys and diffrents. First I'm gonna tell you the diffrentes. In america we call christmas, well christmas but in France they call it Noel. Also we have santa. France has Pere noel.

Our santa is is fat and kinda tall but Pere noel is tall and skinny.

France has even more diffrences from america's christmas also. In america we leave cookes and milk for santa, but in France they will leave their food and drinks from their meal out in case Virigin Mary calls in.Another thing is that Everyone gets gifts on Christmas day In America. But In the north of France, children are given gifts on December 6, which is St.

Nicholas' Day, instead of Christmas Day. The adults give each others presents on New Year's Day.

We leave stocks out for santa in america. But Children in France leave their shoes or wooden clogs called sabots in the hearth for the Christ Child or Pere Noel to fill. Not only that but We have a dinner around 5-10 in America. In france they call their's Le reveillon is a very late supper held after midnight mass on Christmas Eve. Which is much later then our dinner.

As you can tell america's and france version of christmas may be diffrent but they are also alike in some ways to.

First like America's Christmas on the day after, get up in time to watch the children find their Chirstmas presents under the tree and unwrap them with excitement. Also we both have a family gathering with a nice evening meal near christmas time. And don't forget that we write letters to Santa. Which like us they have the children prepare their letter to "le Père Noël. Something that kinda is alike to our tradition is Like the usa's version of the christmas pickle, which we hide a pickle in the tree and whover fineds it gets an extra present, French families used to have a Three Kings Cake with a bean hidden in it. Whoever found the bean in their slice was made King, or Queen, for the day. In France the children go out to look for the Kings, taking gifts of hay for the camels.

As you can see France And America's tradtions are quite diffrent but also have some similarites too. Learning christmas traditions can be fun & educational. Even though christmas isnt the same every where like i said it still being joy and exxcitment for everyone everywhere. I hope you're christmas this year will be as amazing as France's.
