The Difference Between Classroom Learning and Online Learning

Technology is changing everyday in a progressive way; it has bearing on every area of our life, even on the way of learning. At present, we could either attend traditional classes or virtual classes. Despite, sharing some superficial similarities, the difference between classroom learning and online learning require institution from teachers, and have comparable method of assessments. Though, they differ from one another in terms of scheduling, communication, and financial aspect.

First of all, online learning is more worthy for scheduling than classroom learning.

Anybody can maintain flexible plan of study unlike classroom learning. In online learning, anyone can do study at his or her own schedule which is straight inverse of classroom learning. For instance, a person taking online classes can balance time between work and study. On the other hand, person who takes classroom learning has to stick to fixed and strict schedule which can imbalance with work time. The best thing about online learning is that individuals can take a course from the comfort of their office or home, even with a busy schedule, one can find some spare time to take a curse or study for it.

Those situations can keep off getting class on time. However, in this point online learning is more convenient than classroom learning. For example, person just needs to sign in, and don't need to waste valuable time and money, and don't need to concern about any uncertain situation on the waste to campus.

Another example, some students prefer to do the research in the more traditional way, by visiting the campus library, and read books and magazines to receive the information they require. What class, will be more cost effective, is another decision a student has to make. Financial aspect is another important cause to choose online learning method. Students choose an online program for saving money and course completion time is short. Online learning is less expensive than classroom learning. In classroom learning, students spend a lot of money on travel, food, accommodation and reading materials such as books.

In opposite, online learning at home minimizes the cost of incurred from travel, food, accommodations and books. Course completion time is shorter for online learning than classroom learning. Because students can complete their course as fast as possible even they can spend time for learning online how much they want. But, in classroom learning, there is time frame for classroom learning. For example, every institute follow the semester wise education and have to complete the semester within fixed time frame. Sometimes it is tough to finish the semester in calculated time.

In conclusion, there are many advantages and disadvantages for both online and classroom learning. Online learning has introduced a technological change in learning with its own merits and demerits. While some studies show online students slightly outperforming their traditional classroom counterparts, most indicate that there is little difference in overall performance between the two formats. In spite of short falls, classroom learning takes step to chance to read and learn. Although, classroom learning makes out to take measure more peer and teacher interaction that improve effective learning than online learning. Online courses are keen to produce an independent individual keen to balance study and other activities like work.
