The actual word fascism comes from the Italian word fascio which means union or league. Most fascist movements occurred in the early in 1900’s in Europe. Fascist movements came about in the 1900’s due to the fact that political parties were trying to increase patriotism after the social and political turmoil after World War 1 and the Russian Revolution. Such primary examples were Italy and Germany with Hitler and Mussolini. The fascist governments gained the control of their states by gaining the support of their people.
